The most economical way to travel here takes about 5 hours. You take the ferry boat at Sao Joaquim in Salvador to Bom Despacio on the island of Itaparica (R$5,00 ~ 50 minutes). The ferry lets you off right at the bus station where you can take a bus to Valenca (R$14,00 ~ 2 hours). At the bus station in Valenca take a taxi (R$10,00 ~ 5 minutes) to the port for a speed boat to Boipeba (R$35 ~ 50 minutes). A reservation for the speed boat is recommended. Please contact us for assistance with this if needed.

From Morro de Sao Paulo:
There are boat excursions that will allow those who wish to get to Boipeba to join for a slightly lower price. You will end up going to the piscinas naturais (the natural pools where you can snorkel) and then continue on to Boipeba. Check at most travel agencies in Morro about this option.

There is a second option of taking a jeep from Morro to Boipeba overland. This is a pretty bouncy ride, but a nice opportunity to see a lot of the island of Tinhare’. The cost is about the same as the boat trip and takes about an hour. The jeep office is at the entrance to the second beach, or ask at travel agencies. Last, you can take a speed boat from Morro to Valenca (½ hour) and then another speed boat from Valenca to Boipeba (1 hour). Boats leave Morro for Valenca every half hour. Boats leave Valenca for Boipeba every hour from 11:00h to 17:00h.

Reservations are recommended. Check for schedule updates-things are always changing here.
